Securities business is a new area for most of Bosnia and Herzegovina citizens that they did not meet earlier. Raiffeisen BROKERS gives answers to some of frequently asked questions:

What are securities?

Those are documents in the form of electronic documents that contain some negotiable property right.

What kinds of securities exist?

Currently in Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina only shares are in circulation and besides them securities are also bonds and other negotiable documents on investment.

What is a share?

A share is a document on your ownership in some company, bank, insurance or PIF. You may sell or buy them without limitations. A shareholder is entitled to a share in profit through dividend, a voting right at an assembly and the remaining portion from bankruptcy estate after liquidation of company.

Where are my securities?

Securities are not issued as printed documents. They are stored in date base with Securities Register of Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Register issues certificate to owners of shares, which presents confirmation on ownership of shares.

What is Securities Register?

Securities Register in Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina is the state-owned institution that takes care on keeping and also registers any change in securities ownership.

What is stock exchange?

Stock exchange is a place in which stocks are traded. Through Sarajevo Stock Exchange trade in shares issued in Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina are executed.

What is brokerage house?

This is the company through which you may purchase or sell shares at a stock exchange. Brokerage houses in FBiH are members of Sarajevo Stock Exchange in which they mutually trade in shares.

What is the value of my shares?

Share price varies at the stock market in respect to supply and demand. Authorised persons at the counters of Raiffeisen bank may give you the latest information on trends in prices. You can sell and buy your shares under current market price on trading day or you may determine the minimum price below which you do not want to sell your shares or maximum price for which you are ready to buy shares.

How can I sell or purchase shares?

Very simple. You just go to the closest outlet of Raiffeisen bank, you conclude an agreement with Raiffeisen BROKERS, open an account with Raiffeisen bank and transfer the order for sale or purchase of shares.
